Australians will spend twice as much this year on digital technology as they did four years ago, a consumer electronics survey predicts. The latest Canon Digital Lifestyle Index, conducted by GfK Marketing, shows spending for the first half of 2007 exceeded $2 billion.
The index predicts this will hit $5 billion by the end of the year, as Christmas spending and end-of-year sales stimulate further buying.















I believe we must be able to point people towards God through digital technology as more people entertain themselves at home through the Internet, TV, and home movies. Back in 1899 we were responsible for the first motion picture in Australia...
The Limelight Department was one of the world's first film studios, operated by The Salvation Army in Melbourne, Australia, between 1891 and 1910. The Limelight Department produced evangelistic material for use by the Salvation Army, as well as private and government contracts. In its 19 years of operation, the Limelight Department produced about 300 films of various lengths, making it the largest film producer of its time.
We were an incredibly innovative movement and used the latest gadgets to present the gospel to the people. Today we need to start dreaming again as even though the message never changes our methods must.
