Doctrines or Actions?

a Jesus thought...
But Jesus kept silent. (Matt 26:63)

a Godly thought...
As Christian discipleship is training for mission we should place less emphasis on whose lineage, rites, doctrines, structures, and terminology are right and more emphasis on whose actions, service, outreach, kindness, and effectiveness are good. (p251 McLaren)

a leading thought...
People are like walking novels. If you find someone boring it's only because you the listener, haven't asked the right questions or found that person's true passions. (p120 Brafman)

Just a thought.

Hey Dave!

I love the leading thought! Thats been my experience here at PValley. So many people have so many gifts i have no idea about...

The Godly thought made me think though. At first i hated the comment. (sounded too neo-liberal wishy washy!)But then i shifted a bit as i thought about it.

I think its a good general comment but the truth always has to be there. We need to worship in spirit and in truth... i would struggle if we only looked at the actions and not the truth.

at the same time i agree that we cant be just on about being 'right.' We need to live right too...

thanx dave, made me think...
